Safeguarding for visitors
As a busy school, we regularly have visitors coming to the school.
Visitors can include contractors, supporting external agencies such as Family Support Workers or School Nurses and our supportive parents. We greatly appreciate the help and support provided by all visitors but especially those from our local community who want the school and children to succeed.
If you have any time to give and are looking to support the school further, please contact the school to explore ways you can help.
Some of the suggested avenues we appreciate receiving help:
- Joining the PTFA - fund raise for the school through organising and running different events
- Reading - listening to children read
- Lunchtimes - becoming a voluntary SMSA and supporting the children in their playtime at lunchtime
- Donations - donating clean and surplus uniform to our swap shop or items that can be sold at PTFA events
- School Trips - volunteering your time to go on school trips
If you are able to volunteer your time, we ask you to read the Volunteers and Contractors Policy prior to your assistance.
Any visitor requiring to work alone or work 1:1 with a child will require a recent DBS check to be completed. Our office staff are the front line in ensuring that the correct safeguarding checks are completed before visitors are allowed access to the school, so please remember to wear the correct coloured lanyard you are supplied with.
